Dr. Lyle Cadenhead

The first thing that I would like to tell is you that my family is very important to me. I am a mom, grandma and wife. I have lived in Houston since 1983 but I was born and raised in Baton Rouge. I received my Bachelor's degree and Masters in Business degree at Louisiana State University. I worked as a Banker in downtown Houston until 1991 when I chose to change my career to become an elementary school teacher! I entered the field of education and counseling at that time and never looked back! I taught for 5 years then transitioned to the work of school counseling finishing my Masters in Counseling in 1998. I graduated the PhD Counseling 'Psychology Program at the University of Houston in 2002. I then worked as a psychologist for Houston Independent School District. I interned at HISD and at Baylor's Blue Bird Clinic to learn about counseling and evaluating children and adolescents.

I specialize in counseling and evaluation for children and adolescents from age 18 months to 21 years of age. I speak Spanish. My practice focuses on issues around Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Asperger's Disorder, Adoption and Developmental Transitions.

I formerly taught the Children's Counselling, Adolescent Counselling, Child and Adolescent Psychopathology, and Counselling in Schools courses and the University of Houston. I was formerly an adjunct faculty in the Educational Psychology Department.

Catalina Prebisch, M. Ed., LPC, CART

Catalina Prebisch, M.Ed., LPC, CART

Catalina has received her Bachelorís in Psychology and her Masterís degree in Counseling from the University of Houston. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist. Catalina believes in working with families which can be defined as individuals, parents and children, or couples.

Catalina has experience in individual, couples, group, and family therapy. She is competent to work with children and adults experiencing issues with: ADD/ADHD, aspergerís, autism, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, self-esteem, anger management, and teen pregnancy/parenting.

Catalina will use various psychological theories and techniques such as Humanistic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, among others, to help clients manage their life difficulties. She has faith in each individual and will work with them to develop their personal voice. Catalina believes that exploring the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are essential in understanding concerns and their remedies.

Catalina is fluent in Spanish and therefore she will be able to provide therapy in both languages.

Sarah received her Bachelor's in Psychology in 2006 at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She also received a Masterís in Counseling in 2010 from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. Sarah is currently working on her professional license under the supervision of Dr. Lyle Cadenhead. She worked at The Parish Childrenís School for four years while obtaining her Masterís and there she became familiar with working with children who have language delays and who are diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum. Her passion is to help children and families who struggle with language delays and behavioral issues at school and in the home.

 

Kevin Waymire, B.A.

Kevin Waymire, B.A.

Kevin is currently enrolled in the Master's of counseling program at the University of Houston and will graduate with his degree before the end of the year. Kevin received his Bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008 and returned to Houston shortly after to take up full time employment as a police officer for HPD.

Kevin is in the last stages of his program and is working under Dr. Cadenhead as a practicum student to complete required university Hours. His interests include at-risk youth populations and the study of psychopathogy.
